You can use the Chase mobile app with an external bank account that is not linked to the Chase bank. But how do you connect an external bank account to the Chase app? 

To add a Chase bank account to the Chase mobile app, sign into your account, go to your “Checking Account,” swipe to the left, select “Transfer,” and tap on “Manage External Accounts.” From there, you can use your external bank, under “Add an External Account,” account for use in the Chase app.

How To Link Your External Bank Account To The Chase App?

The Chase mobile app is not just for members of Chase bank but also for members of other banks. In just a few simple steps, you will be able to link your external bank account to the handy Chase mobile app and use it to transfer and pay money.

Sign Into The Chase Mobile App

Open the Chase app on your phone and log into your Chase account. 

If you do not have a Chase account, you can visit the Chase website to create one. 

Navigate To The Checking Account Tab

Within the Chase mobile app, locate your “Checking Account.” Once you have found it, swipe to the left on it, and you will be presented with options related to payments and money transfers.

Select The “Transfer” Option In The Chase App

Once you have swiped left on your “Checking Account,” you will be presented with a series of options. One of the options is “Transfer,” which you must select to proceed further to link your external bank account.

Find The “Manage External Accounts” Option

After you have selected the “Transfer” tab, another menu will open with various options. The option that you must choose to start the procedure is “Manage External Accounts.” 

You will be greeted with an option to manage loans from a registered “Checking Account.” If you do not have such an account, swipe to the left on the tab to manage loans and select “Pay.”

Select “Add External Account” In The App

Find the “Add External Account” option. Once you are in that tab, locate your external bank. Once you have located your external bank, select it.

Log Into Your External Bank Account

Log into your external bank account using the account details linked to your bank account. Before you can do that, you must agree to the Chase app’s “Terms and Conditions.”

Select Your External Bank Account

You will be presented with the accounts linked to your external bank account. Pick one to connect to the Chase app

Once you have reviewed that all your account details are correct, select “Next.”

Finish Linking Your Account

Select the “Done” tab, and your external bank account should be linked to your Chase app.
