Summary of experience
I am an honors student from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), and hold a Cyber Security Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
Throughout my tenure at UTSA, I put myself through school through a variety of internships in different business industry segments.
These segments ranged from technology, oil and gas, semiconductor, and local and state government. Specifically, I served as a security analyst for the city of San Antonio, network engineer for NuStar energy, and a security engineer for Samsung in their research and development center in Austin Texas.
Once graduated, I was recruited to work with Marathon Petroleum as a security engineer, immediately prior to my joining of Amazon Web services.
Throughout my career at Amazon, I have served again in a variety of different industries ranging from government, nonprofit, federal financial services, department of defense,and now aerospace and space exploration.
Accomplishments and Awards
First Amazon Web Services (AWS) Snowcone sent to space
Robert is a Solution Architect at Amazon Web Services and was the trusted technical advisor responsible for leading the effort to land the first ever piece of cloud computing technology into outer space. Not only that, but this mission occurred in the first ever commercial human spaceflight in the history of mankind. He also got recognition from the CEO of AWS on LinkedIn.

I have had an active AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional Certification for over three years, and leverage that expertise on a daily basis working with customers.
AWS Certified Security Specialty Certification
I am also a subject matter expert when it comes to Cyber Security in AWS, and have been certified as such for over three years.

AWS Well Architected Framework: SEC10-BP02 Develop incident management plans
Having worked as an actual AWS Solutions architect at AWS for almost 4 years, Robert even got to author a Security Best Practice for the Global Well Architected Framework.
AWS Well Architected Framework: SEC10-BP04 Develop and test security incident response playbooks
I have also gotten to write a second, brand new Well Architected Framework Best Practice for developing and testing security incident response playbooks.
AWS Satellite Operator Direct Connect
Robert also has been a frequent though leader while working at AWS. He has crafted reference architectures such as the satellite operator direct connect reference architecture. This draws from his experience guiding his customers through designing for resiliency and faulty tolerance for their mission critical workloads!
